Simply Clean: The Healthier Alternative
“Simplyclean is a range of sensitiser free, toxin free and earth safe home cleaning and personal care products. Simplyclean is the healthier alternative eco cleaning range for your home, with no compromise on cleaning performance.” (Simply Clean)
As the story goes, Becky Thompson and Huw Jones left the corporate world in Britain, moved to Australia, had an epiphany at Uluru, and transformed the 15-year-old Lismore business Mountain Cleaning Products into Simply Clean. Simply Clean began in 2012and now supplies to over 300 retailers Australia wide!
In 2012 Becky and Huw were primarily concerned with offering a range of cleaning products that weren’t harmful to our bodies. Other eco-cleaning products were floating around out there but there weren’t any that focused on long-term health impacts. Simply Clean’s products, free of harmful and irritating chemicals, particularly provided relief for individuals with sensitive skin and allergies. They now target their products at anyone who wants to control what chemicals come and go in their home and around their body.
“All Simplyclean products are toxin free and sensitiser free. We want to help you protect your family in your home environment. No asthma irritants or skin sensitisers. No nasties or concerning chemicals like SLS, SLES, parabens, mineral oils or diethanolamides, all commonly found in everyday cleaning products.”
With Simply Clean you don’t have to worry about cleaning products coming into contact with your skin, food prep areas, kitchen utensils, or child play areas. Peace of mind for you and your family.
One of the driving motivators behind Neatspiration was my quest for natural cleaning products that actually work (see our About page). This is also very important for the team at Simply Clean. Performance matters. Imagine: you use natural cleaners for health purposes, however those natural cleaners aren’t robust enough, they don’t clean effectively, which means your health is at risk because things aren’t clean enough! What a terrible cycle! Simply Clean aligns with our ethos at Neatspiration perfectly: cleaning for health, the earth, and cleaning’s sake! The star ingredient of Simply Clean products, that makes this possible, is pure Australian lemon myrtle oil. With anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, lemon myrtle oil does the job. Simple Clean’s product range has been thoroughly tested in “real family homes”.
As alluded to above, the ancient, native Australian lemon myrtle oil is a key ingredient in Simply Clean products. There are many other exciting ingredients for us in store. Simply Clean use only plant-based and mineral-based ingredients when possible.
Health for you and health for the environment work hand in hand at Simply Clean. They use sustainable and ethical ingredients (avoiding palm oil), and don’t test their products on animals.
Australian grown essential oils:
- Lemon myrtle leaf oil grown on the hills around their Lismore factory
- Blue mallee eucalyptus oil grown in Victoria
- Australian lime oil grown in Victoria –“We like this steam distilled oil for its lack of photo (light) sensitising compounds; vital for maintaining our Simplyclean sensitiser-free promise. Steam distilled lime oil has a sweet overtone on a zesty, crisp fragrance.” (Simply Clean)
Transparency and disclosure
Simply Clean make the promise of full ingredient transparency: disclosing their full ingredient list on every product using INCI conventions, making it easy for every consumer to investigate for themselves and make informed purchases.
Chemicals that harm us also harm plant and animal life. At Neatspiration we strive to provide you with alternative cleaning advice that reduces our impact on the at-risk eco-systems around us. Simply Clean is one of many product ranges we recommend to you as an ethical alternative to common market products.
Simply Clean products are biodegradable, eco-responsible, and grey water safe so you know you’re making a good decision for your health, your home, and our earth. See their website for more detailed information about compliance with environmental standards.
